With the arrival of the new 2017/18 season, the Hyundai A-League’s chain link jersey is set to become the most iconic player jersey in the competition.
The deal is the result of a number of factors, including a sponsorship agreement with Australian Rugby Union (ARU) and Hyundai, as well as the introduction of the Hyundai Champions League, which allows Hyundai to promote and showcase its brand internationally.
This is just the first of many things to come as the Hyundai deal is set for a big launch on Tuesday, with other players, including Melbourne Victory’s Ivan Franjic, Sydney FC’s David Carney and Brisbane Roar’s Luke Garbutt, set to join the club for the Hyundai Grand Final.
There are still a number things to look forward to with the new Hyundai Champions final.
Firstly, the Champions League will be played in the same venue as the Grand Final, and it is understood the Hyundai team will be flying out to Sydney from Adelaide in a few weeks to take part.
The Hyundai Grand final will also be held at ANZ Stadium, with the match being played on Sunday, December 18.
Hyundai Grand Finals are typically played on Sundays and will take place in front of 20,000 fans in the South Sydney Civic Centre.
The other big event to be played is the Hyundai Stadium Super Bowl.
A joint event between Hyundai and the NRL, the Super Bowl is set down in the ground at the Sydney Opera House and will be held on December 31.
Hyundai Stadium will also feature a new stadium named after the game, as part of the 2018/19 season.
The Hyundai Stadium has been a fixture in the Sydney CBD for nearly 70 years, and has hosted a number grand finals including the 2002/03 Super Bowl and the 2006/07 Grand Final between the Brisbane Broncos and the Sydney Roosters.
There will also also be a number other grand finals events, including the 2019/20 Hyundai Grand Finale.
With the grand final at the Hyundai Super Stadium already scheduled for December, it seems unlikely we will see a full-scale Hyundai Grand FINAL at the new venue in 2018.
However, there are a few other events scheduled for the stadium, including football matches, a Super Bowl-themed party and a football game for the AFL Grand Final on December 30.
There is also a new Hyundai Superbowl-themed venue set up at the old Sydney Cricket Ground.
There have been plenty of other big changes to the Hyundai Arena and Hyundai Stadium in the past, with Hyundai replacing the old stadium with the current Hyundai Grand Stadium and the building being built into the new arena.
With this season, Hyundai will also have to build a new facility for their home matches, with a new venue set to open at the Adelaide Oval in 2019.
It seems that the Hyundai arena is set up to take on the role of a ‘hub’ for all of the games that the club has planned for 2018, with some of those games including the Hyundai Crows, Hyundai Jets and the Hyundai Stars being played at the arena.
A new home venue will also provide Hyundai with a home away from home, with this being the first season for Hyundai to host a home game in its new home.
The 2017/2018 Hyundai A–League season is set after the Hyundai grand final and is the last season for the new stadium to be built.
