It’s been a rough few weeks for the Serie A giants, with a series of big moves to the lower divisions taking their toll on the squad and their supporters.
One of the latest departures was the highly-rated Alessandro Diamanti, who joined Napoli from Fiorentina for a reported €8 million, but the player’s future remains in doubt.
It seems like Diamanti’s time in Turin is done, with Fiorena announcing that the midfielder has agreed a one-year contract extension.
“I am very happy to extend my contract with Fiorenza and I thank all the fans for their support and faith in me,” Diamante said in a statement.
“As a player, my ambition is to play for the national team and I hope to be back in Serie A one day.”
Diamati, who spent last season on loan at Fiorencia, is the latest Italian player to leave the Bianconeri, with fellow midfielders Mario Balotelli and Alessandro Florenzi also departing.
